Terms of Service

Summary: Use SecurePass responsibly. We provide a secure password manager, but you're responsible for keeping your master password safe. We can't recover your data if you lose it.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing, accessing, or using SecurePass ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
2. Description of Service
SecurePass is a password manager Chrome extension that allows you to:
- Securely store and encrypt passwords locally on your device
- Generate strong, random passwords
- Autofill login credentials on websites
- Optionally sync encrypted data across devices (Premium feature)
3. Account Registration
3.1 Free Tier
The free tier does not require account registration. Your data is stored locally on your device.
3.2 Premium Tier
To access Premium features including cloud sync, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate account information
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
4. User Responsibilities
By using SecurePass, you agree to:
- Safeguard your master password: Your master password is the only key to your encrypted data. We cannot recover it if lost.
- Use the Service lawfully: Do not use SecurePass for any illegal activities or to store credentials obtained illegally.
- Keep backups: While we provide cloud sync, you should maintain your own backups of critical data.
- Report vulnerabilities: If you discover security vulnerabilities, please report them responsibly to security@securepass.app.
5. Subscription and Payments
5.1 Free Tier
The free tier is provided at no cost with limited features (up to 5 websites).
5.2 Premium Subscription
- Pricing: $12.00 USD per year
- Billing: Charged annually on the date of subscription
- Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled
- Cancellation: You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
- Refunds: Refunds are available within 14 days of initial purchase if you haven't used Premium features extensively
5.3 Price Changes
We may change subscription prices with 30 days' notice. Existing subscriptions will not be affected until renewal.
6. Intellectual Property
SecurePass and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by SecurePass and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not:
- Modify, reverse engineer, or decompile the software
- Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
- Create derivative works based on the Service
- Use the Service to develop a competing product
7. Data and Privacy
Your use of SecurePass is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:
- We use zero-knowledge encryption - we cannot access your passwords
- Your master password never leaves your device
- Cloud sync data is encrypted before upload
8. Disclaimers
8.1 Service Provided "As Is"
SecurePass is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
8.2 Security Disclaimer
While we implement industry-leading security measures, no system is 100% secure. You acknowledge that:
- You use the Service at your own risk
- We are not responsible for unauthorized access due to your actions (e.g., weak master password, malware on your device)
- We cannot recover your data if you lose your master password
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SecurePass and its affiliates shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of data, profits, or goodwill
- Any damages exceeding the amount you paid for the Service in the past 12 months
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SecurePass from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for:
- Breach of these Terms
- Fraudulent or illegal activity
- Non-payment (for Premium subscriptions)
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Local data remains on your device; cloud data may be deleted after 30 days.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
13. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through:
- Informal Resolution: Contact us first at legal@securepass.app to attempt informal resolution
- Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration
- Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of a class action
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
